Accessing an Airbag Control Module AKA: Event Data Recorder, EDR, SDM, ACM, RCM and "Black Box" (although many are silver)
Fortunately, the process usually involves plugging into a port under the dashboard.
Bosch CDR (Crash Data Retrieval) is a system of network cables, computer interfaces and software that is used to access stored data in the vehicle's computer network.
The first make/models were supported in 1994, expanding to nearly every vehicle sold in the US after 2012.

Data is always somewhat specific to each manufacturer, but was "standardized" in 2013.
Older vehicles often had measured crash forces and some pre-crash speed, brake and RPM data.
Newer vehicles can have pages of data including steering wheel angle, yaw rates, lateral and longitudinal crash forces, individual wheel speeds and other information.
Heavy Truck data is more limited and is related to the engine control systems, transmission or brake controllers. A record containing speed, braking, gear and RPM MAY be present.
WHAT IS DOWNLOADABLE?
Most Passenger Vehicles and Light Trucks are covered by the
